My old ironing board was a beast. Huge and heavy. Something that's easy to deal with when you're younger, but as you get older, becomes more and more cumbersome. So I went looking for something easier to manage. This board fits the bill as it's more compact and lighter weight. But that doesn't mean it lacks on functionality. It irons my shirts and slacks just as well as my old board. The included silicone iron trivet was a huge draw for me on this item as well. My previous board actually had burn marks on the pad where the iron had fallen while hot and scorched the fabric. My walls have ding marks where I tried to balance the iron against the board and wall to keep it from falling. Now I don't need to do that at all and it's great. It's not as long as standard boards so check the measurements but for most everyday clothing it works fine. Recommend.
